Originally from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Bobby, Carmine & John started singing Doo Wop with their friends on corners, in hallways or anywhere they could find an echo.
Together since 1986, JUST FRIENDS have opened shows for some of the leading oldies groups around. Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge, Jay Black & the Americans, Little Anthony & the Imperials, The Duprees, The Classics and The Mystics, just to name a few.
Singing classic hits of the 50’s , 60’s & 70’s. JUST FRIENDS entertain young and old alike. Whether it be in a club, restaurant, private party or street fairs JUST FRIENDS entertains an eclectic forum of spectators with their great harmony at events throughout the tri-state area. JUST FRIENDS also gives back to the community by lending their talents to the fundraising efforts of many not-for-profit organizations.
Just Friends is committed to faithful renditions of true four part harmony. This is the backbone, and trademark of many of the classic vocal groups of the 50s and 60s. Technology has enabled some performers to utilize electronic processing such as “Auto-Tune” and Harmonizers, to produce virtually perfect harmony. The computer adjusts pitch in real time so that any vocal part is always in tune with the others. Just Friends never has, and never will, use any electronic enhancement to modify or adjust the pitch of any singing voice. What you hear is purely the product of the human ear and voice, and meticulous practice, so that the harmony is as it was written, arranged, and performed by the original writers and performers. This is our pledge to our audience.
